Updates to A Practical Guide to Networking, Privacy & Security in iOS 12

To load any of those files in iOS, simply tap the link and the appropriate app should open or iOS will use its native viewer. If the appropriate app doesn’t open, tap the Share button, and then select iBooks, Kindle, or another reader app to transfer the ebook file.

If you’re viewing this page on a Mac and want to transfer one of the above files to iOS, you can try any of the following:

  • For PDFs, use iCloud Drive.
  • For EPUB, import the file into iBooks with iCloud sync turned on, and the file will also be available after it uploads in iBooks in iOS.
  • For MOBI, import the file into the Kindle Reader for macOS, and the file will sync with your Kindle collection, so you can access it from Kindle for iOS.

You can also follow these steps:

  1. Download any of the formats above.
  2. In the Finder, select the file.
  3. Right-click on the file and select Share.
  4. From Share, select AirDrop, and then select your iOS device. (Make sure AirDrop is turned on in Control Center in iOS.)
  5. In iOS, you may be prompted to approve the transfer. Tap Allow.
  6. Select the app you want the ebook file opened in, and you’re done!
